The Old Church was built in 1882 and was saved from demolition in the late 60's by a group of history buffs, led by Lannie Hurst. The Old Church Society was formed to protect it for future generations. No longer a religious institution, it now serves as a community venue for classical, jazz and all types of acoustic music, as well as lectures and weddings. The first pipe organ in Portland is housed here, as well as a Steinway grand piano.TOC is wheel chair accessible!
